Tocumwal Golf Club boasts the home of the Southern PGA Trainee Championships. A magnificent 36 hole championship course, with a reputation for excellence. The well maintained, sand belt course is suitable to play all year round. Tocumwal boasts more daylight-sun hours than the Gold Coast.
With nearly 4,000 members there's always lots happening in and around the Tocumwal Golf Club. Equipped with a stunning 36 hole championship golf course, on course Pro Shop, dining and entertainment facilities, plus corporate and function facilities, Tocumwal Golf Club is a must play for any golfing enthusiast. The superbly maintained golf course, framed by native trees and abounding with bird life, often has kangaroos and wild ducks grazing on the lush fairways.
We have it all here waiting for you to enjoy great food, good service, friendly staff, an excellent 36 hole golf course. We can recommend relaxing on-course and near-by accommodation to suit your requirements. We look forward to seeing you around the club!

Club History
The first game of golf recorded at Tocumwal was in the early 1920’s and was played on land currently
occupied by the Tocumwal racecourse.
1946 some land became available at the present Pony Club site. A nine hole course was developed with sand greens and the Club House was relocated to the new area.
1955 the committee sought land from the Department of the Interior which would enable an eighteen hole course to be developed. The Club was allocated land which previously had been used for the housing of sevice personnel enlisted at the Tocumwal Air Base.
1956 the new eighteen hole course with sand greens was completed and the Clubhouse was once more relocated and placed where the current Clubhouse rests.
1962 the original Clubhouse building was sold and a new building
was erected for the sum of twelve hundred pounds

1970 the land was declared a Recreation Reserve for the purpose of golf and the committee decided to
develop nine grassed greens and nine watered fairways. The work was done by a small band of
energetic volunteers. Up until this time all maintenance work on the course had been done by voluntary labour.
1973 the Club applied for, and was granted, registration as a Company and in 1974 was granted liquor and poker machine licences. The purpose of the poker machines set the ball in motion
1976 the first Clubhouse extension was completed and in 1979 a master plan for three stages of Clubhouse extensions were approved and these were completed in 1980, 1982 and 1984 respectively. Until 1976 all Club House operations were handled by volunteers - including the catering facilities.
1981 a master plan for the course was adopted.
1982 the Club was granted a lease in perpetuity over the land.

1985 a new master plan was adopted for the Clubhouse. The first stage of this program
was completed in 1988.
1986 saw the erection of a new machinery shed and the purchase of land adjacent to the course to enable the construction of an additional eighteen hole course.
1991 work was commenced on the new course with the first nine holes completed and playable by October, 1992. Work was started almost immediately on the second nine holes and once completed created a 36 hole golfing resort, which is now rated in the Top 50 Public Access Courses in Australia.

2007 A completely new kitchen was established followed by a clubhouse refurbishment. Two new balconies to manage the July 1st smoking regulations and the implementation of RAAFters Restaurant, bring you the best of full table service.
Part of the current clubhouse during the WW II years was the base for the RAAF Station Headquarters and Administration buildings and the golf course area was the parade ground and 300 buildings
comprising radio-bunkers, mess halls, cinema, theatre and housing for 5000 RAAF and WAAAF personnel.

Why Tocumwal? Feb 1942 – Singapore had fallen, New Guinea was being occupied and Darwin bombed, invasion of the Australian mainland seemed imminent. The Brisbane Line strategy proposed defenses be concentrated on a line drawn between Brisbane and Melbourne, and Tocumwal, being on that line, was selected for immediate construction of a heavy bomber base for the United States Army Air Corps.
2,700 construction workers of the Allied Works Council and Civil Construction Corps built the runways ready for first landings of aircraft in five weeks.
To commemorate our history and show respect for those who served in WWII our restaurant is called RAAFters RESTaurant. RAAFters provides full table service (evenings only) (excludes Sunday and Wednesday nights, cheaper meal nights) and has an extensive menu and wine list. Evening bookings are essential (bookings not required Wednesday and Sunday nights)

Any personal information provided by you to the Club (e.g. name, address, date of birth and contact details), including information collected as a result of a membership card being placed in a gaming machine or other club machine that is linked to a member loyalty system (not ATMs) that may provide a benefit or service to you, will be protected.
The Club does not usually disclose your personal information to any other organisation or person unless there is a legal requirement to do so. The Club may also disclose personal information to relevant authorities if it reasonably believes that there is a threat to an individual’s life, health or safety, or public health or safety. If the Club has reason to suspect that unlawful activity has been, is being or may be engaged in, personal information may be used or disclosed as a necessary part of any investigation and reporting to relevant persons or authorities.
The Club may disclose your information to third parties that provide services under contract to the club. These contracts require the third party to keep your personal information confidential and secure.
Your personal information, including information about you obtained as a result of you placing your membership card in a gaming or other club machine (not ATMs), may be used by the Club for marketing purposes to improve our services and to provide you with the latest information about those services, any new related services and promotions.
If you do not wish to receive information about services and promotions, the Club, on request, will remove your name from mailing lists.
You have a right to access any personal information that the Club may hold about you, including a right of correction of you information. The Club will generally not charge a fee for you to access your personal information.

Dress Regulations
The general criteria to be applied is that neat, clean and tidy attire is required at all times.
Acceptable
Clothing - Neat, clean casual attire subject to the conditions below.
Footwear - Golf shoes with spikes (before 6pm only), dress shoes, joggers and leather footwear without socks.
Unacceptable
Clothing - Headwear of of any type (unless for medical or ethnic reasons), singlets for men, brief tops or shorts, spoiled or torn apparel, offensive printed t-shirts or clothing, bike leathers, and football apparel.
Footwear - Barefoott, or spoiled footwear, golf shoes or sports shoes with steal spikes or socks only.
Reception staff and door person will interpret these rules having regard to the General Criteria, and have the discretion to make the decision. Any disputes will be adjudicated by the Duty Manager.
